Lula Gibbs Denson

 LULA DENSON
        Mrs. Lula Gibbs Denson, 96, Washington Nursing Center Annex, died at
          7:32 a.m. Wednesday at the Daviess County Hospital after a brief illness.
          She had been in failing health the past six months. She was born Oct.
          3, 1883 in Martin County, daughter of George E. and Sarah Gammon Gibbs.
          Her first marriage was on Oct. 18, 1911 to Robert R. Batchelor, who
          died Nov. 5, 1915. On May 31, 1919 she married Charles E. Denson, who
          died in August 1941. Mrs. Denson was a member of Otterbein United Methodist
          Church. She is survived by one son, Bernard Batchelor, Washington;
          two stepsons, John E. Batchelor, Clearwater, Fla. and Clifford P. Denson,
          Terre Haute; 18 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and
          great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter,
          Edith, three stepsons Carl and Floyd Denson and George Batchelor, four
          sisters and three brothers. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday
          at the Gill Chapel with Rev. Max Nicoson as minister. Burial will be
          in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday.
