FLOYD C. (SODA) DENSON
Floyd C. (Soda) Denson, 64, Washington Rt.3, died at 11 a.m. Sunday at the tome of his son Charles in Loogootee. He had been in failing health for a year and seriously ill two months.
A former NAD Crane employee, he was last employed as radio dispatcher for the Washington Police Department, retiring because of ill health. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Father's Auxiliary of VFW.
He was born in Washington Jan. 14, 1909, son of Charles and Ellen (Burris) Benson, and attended St. Simon's schools. In 1925 he married Margaret Smith who died in 1961.
Surviving are one son, Charles Richard Denson, Loogootee, three daughters, Mrs. Everett, Mrs. William (Mildred) Sum, West Lafayette, and Mrs. Earl (Ruth) Mills, Indianapolis, 22 grandchildren, one brother, Clifford P. Denson, Terre Haute, his stepmother, Mrs. Charles E. Denson, Washington and a stepbrother, Bernard Batchelor, Washington. Two brothers, Claude and Carl, have died.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church with burial in St. John cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Ed Lee Mortuary. Knights of Columbus will pray the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
