ILLNESS OF 10 DAYS REMOVES MRS. DEMOTTE - WIFE OF ODON PHYSICIAN PASSES
AWAY; FUNERAL SUNDAY AFTERNOON
Mrs. Olive DeMotte, wife of Dr. Jerome
Demotte, widely known Odon physician, died at the Daviess County hospital
at 9:30 o'clock this morning following a 10 days serious illness. She
was 69 years old. Born near Montgomery, Mrs. DeMotte had lived most of
her life in this county and was favorably known here. She was the daughter
of Andrew J. and Juline (Parsons) Vest and was born September 10, 1871.
Her father was born near Scotland and her mother was born in this county.
Mrs. DeMotte was married October 10, 1899, and is survived by her husband
and the following children: Dr. Russell DeMotte of Bloomington; Mrs.
Pauline Smith, of Kokomo; and Calvin DeMotte of Odon. She leaves one
brother and five sisters, J. G. Vest of Kansas City, Missouri; Edith
Devine, Delphia Vest, and Martha Robertson of Cannon City, Colorado;
May Fry, of Hunting Park, California and Susie Trainer of Washington,
D. C. Mrs. DeMotte was a member of the Odon Christian Church. Funeral
services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Odon Christian
church with the Rev. Charles Buchanan in charge, assisted by the Rev.
Mr. Fleschman and burial in Walnut Hill cemetery.
