M. CULLIVAN DIES TODAY
Matthew Cullivan, age 77, 1100 1/2 East National Highway, city, passed
away at 5:30 a.m. today at his residence. Cause of death was reported
as complications. He had been in failing health for one year and seriously
ill for the past month. Mr. Cullivan was born in Reeve township, November
3, 1882, the son of the late Michael and Mary Jane (Hedrick) Cullivan.
He was a member of the St. Simons Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge.
He was educated in the Reeve Township Schools and had established a
reputation for his intricate wood carvings. Many items won prizes.
Two brothers, Walter Cullivan of the city and Ed Cullivan of Evansville,
and three sisters, Mrs. Josephine Gillick, Mrs. Sadie Colvin and Mrs.
Ella Colvin, all of this city survive. Funeral services will be held
at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Simon's Church with burial in the
St. Patrick cemetery. Friends may call at the Lee & York Chapel.
