MOTHER OF LOCAL RESIDENT DIES
Mrs. Sadie COLVIN, age 77, 114 West Main Street, Washington, IN, passed
away at 5:50 a.m. Friday at the Daviess County Hospital. She had been
ill for six months and was seriously ill for two weeks. Mrs. COLVIN,
was born in Daviess County, Mar 14, 1885, the daughter of the late
Michael and Mary Jane HEDRICK CULLIVAN. She married Lee COLVIN on Oct
10, 1905, and he preceded her in death on November 25, 1961. She was
a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church here since moving to
Washington 21 years ago. Seven daughters and three sons survive. They
are: Mrs. Paul BROWN, Mrs. Curtis SPAULDING, Frank COLVIN, Mrs. Wm
HAYES, and Mrs. Don HARRIS all of Washington; Mrs. Lawrence (Helen)
SEAL of Loogootee; Mrs. Leonard FLAHERTY of Chicago; Mrs. Emmett AMSDEN
of Indianapolis; and Orville and Ralph COLVIN both of Seymour. There
are 54 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were
held at 9 a.m. Monday at the St. Patrick's Church at Corning with burial
in the church cemetery.
