Cletus J. Colvin

— WASHINGTON - Cletus J. Colvin, 74, 612 E. Main Street, died at his home at approximately 5:55 a.m. today in his sleep. Mr. Colvin had been in failing health since 1972. He was born in St. Patrick's community, Daviess County, April 4, 1902 to Thomas and Ella (Cullivan) Colvin and married Laura Daily September 29, 1925. He was educated in Daviess County schools and was a lifetime resident of Daviess County.
Mr. Colvin was a retired Baltimore & Ohio railroad carman and with his wife, they operated the Colvin Nursing Home 20 years. He was a member of St. Simon's Church, Knights of Columbus Lodge and Moose and Elks lodges. He leaves a widow, two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Louise) Osmon, Plainville; Mrs. Robert (Wilma) Brown, Loogootee; one son, Jack Colvin, city; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Albert (Katie) Gallagher, Montgomery; Roy Colvin, city; Mrs. Clyde (Marie) Williams, Indianapolis; Ernest Colvin, Loogootee; Mrs. Arthur (Maude) Russell, city; and James Colvin, Fairfield, Illinois.
The funeral will be at St. Simon's Church at 10 a.m. Saturday and interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ed Lee Mortuary after 7 p.m. Thursday and the K of C will pray the rosary at 7 p.m. Thursday.
