James A. Colbert Dies In Hospital
James A. (Shotgun) Colbert, 82 year-old retired B & O machinist died
Friday at 10:10 p.m. in the Daviess County Hospital. He had been in failing
health for five months & seriously ill for two weeks. The deceased was
a member of the Church of Christ, the International Association of Machinists,
the Knights of Pythias & resided at 2201 South Highway 57. He was born
in Daviess County April 8, 1881, the son of the late John & Deborah (Edwards)
Colbert. On July 20, 1910 he married Ettie J. Walters & she preceded
him in death on February 11, 1962. Survivors are two sons & a daughter
Arthur Colbert, Mrs Helen Bowers & Walter Colbert all of this city. Six
infant daughters & one son are deceased. Funeral services will be held
Monday at 2 p.m. in the V.L. Poindexter Chapel with burial in Bethel
cemetery. Brother Paul Wallace will officiate. Friends may call at the
funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening. Pallbearers were: David Horton,
Ralph Quilliam, John Flick, Ira Price, Everett Boardman & Walter Wallace.
