DEBORAH COLBERT TAKEN BY DEATH AT HOME TODAY
        Mrs. Deborah Colbert, 75, died at her home in South Washington at 5 o'clock
          this morning following a serious illness of about six months. Death
          was due to a cancer of the head, for she had been suffering for about
          three years. Mrs. Colbert's death was not unexpected as she had been
          critical for some time. Born in Daviess county May 14 1850, deceased
          had spent her entire life in this county, the past several years in
          Washington. February 20, 1870 she was united in marriage with John
          Colbert & to this union six children were born, two of whom survive
          to mourn the passing of their mother. The children are: James Colbert
          of South Washington & Mrs Helen Longer of Richmond Ind. There are no
          other near relatives. Twelve grand children & one great grand child
          also survive. Mrs. Colbert was a member of the Church of Christ & active
          in church affairs. Funeral rites will be held Wednesday afternoon at
          3 o;clock at the home in South Washington with interment following
          in Oak Grove cemetery. Mrs. Colbert was well known & liked by her friends & neighbors.
          She was always ready to help another in time of need of illness through
          her other friendly traits made friends with whomever she met. She is
          mourned by many friends. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters lodge.
          She was the daughter of Jeremiah & Elita Edwards.
