Dwight Chestnut

Elnora
Dwight "Bud" Chestnut, 75, died at 3:20PM Monday at his residence. Born
Oct. 7, 1932 in Daviess County, he was the son of Charles G. and Ruth
(Swallers) Chestnut. A 1950 graduate of Elnora High School, he served
in Germany in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He retired from Naval
Warfare Surface Center, Crane in 1994 after 31 years. He was a member
of Elnora Christian Church and Elnora American Legion. He is survived
by sons and daughters in law, Michael and Janet Chestnut of Washington,
and Dave and Liza Chestnut of Petersburg; grandchildren, Bethany Chestnut,
Taylore Chestnut, Robert Chestnut, Clint Chestnut, Kyle May, Kaycie May
and Kory May; great grandchild, Bailey Kay; sister and brother in law,
Donna and Walt Manning of Glenview, Ill.; four nieces and two nephews.
He is preceded in death by one brother, Donald Chestnut. The funeral
will be at 10:30AM Friday at Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home,
Odon Chapel, with Bro. Randy Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Fairview
Cemetery, with military graveside rites by Odon-Elnora American Legion
and V.F.W. Visitation is from 5PM to 8PM Thursday at the funeral home.
