Mrs. Elizabeth Cahill Dead, Age 90 Years
Mrs. Elizabeth Cahill one of the oldest of Daviess county women, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Sharum north of Montgomery this morning after an illness of several years. Her death was due to general debility. She was ninety years and four months old at the time of her death. Mrs. Cahill had been in poor health for several years. About six months ago she was taken to the bed from which she never arson. Her strength failed rapidly and for the last three weeks her life had been hanging as if by a thread. The doctors had looked for her death hourly for the last two weeks and her vitality was a surprise to them. She died early this morning Mrs. Cahill was one of the most devout Christian in the county. She attended church regularly until her health prevented it. When she was sixteen years old she joined the Christian church and a few years later she and a few of like faith started the Bethany Christian church in Barr township. She was born in Kentucky September 3, 1819, but when three years old moved to this county. She married Thomas Cahill in 1838 and to this union twelve children were born. Two of them are living, Mrs. Thomas Sharum and Mrs. Sue Radcliffe. The funeral will likely be held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock at the Bethany church in Barr township.
