Rita Ruth Loughmiller Burkhart

Rita Ruth Burkhart, 6 Douglas Drive, died at 10PM Friday at her home. Born April 28, 1927, in Indianapoles, she was the daughter of Joseph Arthur and Anna Mabel (Brown) Loughmiller. A 1945 graduate of Montgomery High School, she taught Sunday school at Bethany Christian Church for 35 years. She had been a member of the church for 50 years but had recently been attending Parkview Christian Church. She was a Red Cross Gray Lady at Daviess Community Hospital for 15 years and was a member of Delta Theta Tau and Sugarland Homemakers Club for many years. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Mariruth and Dr. Douglas Webster of Chicago and Sharon Roach of Evansville; son and daughter-in-law, Gary S. and Jeanna Burkhart of Washington; grandchildren Jonathan Roach of Cannelburg and Jessica Wright, Kasey Burkhart and Kensay Burkhart of Washington; and great grandchild Audrey Wright. Her husband, Samuel David Burkhart Jr., whom she married Oct. 2, 1946, died June 18, 2005. The couple had been married for more than 58 years. Son David Joseph Burkhart is also deceased. The funeral will be at 10:30AM Tuesday at Gill Chapel with Bros. Ben Bean and Ronald Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4PM to 8PM today and after 9AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Delta Theta Tau memorial services will be at 6PM today. Preferred memorials are to Parkview Christian Church
