Dies Unexpectedly
Hillary J. Boyd, 75, Washington Route 4, was found dead in bed this morning
after an apparent heart attack. It is believed that death occurred about
1 a.m.
He made his home with his daughter, Mrs. William (Ruth) York. He had
been employed by the County Highway Department and the City Water Department
and was a member of the Veale Creek Baptist Church.
Mr. Boyd was a lifelong resident of Daviess county. He was born December
19, 1894, a son of William H. and Lucinda (Risley) Boyd. In 1929 he married
Eva E. Fox, and she died in 1950.
In addition to Mrs. York he leaves one son, Kenneth F. Boyd, Tucson,
Arizona, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Purcell and Mrs. Nancy Fitzgerald,
both of Washington. There are five grandchildren. Three sisters preceded
him in death.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the V.L. Poindexter Funeral
Home, with burial in the new Veale Creek cemetery. Friends may call at
the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
