Mrs. Slater Belcher Dies at Bedford Mrs. Pearl Belcher, wife of Slater Belcher, an old Washington boy, son of John Belcher, died at Bedford this morning after several months illness. Her death was caused by consumption of the bowels. She was taken to her bed last June. Mrs. Belcher was twenty-one years of age and was a daughter of Edward Aikman. She was born in this city and lived here until three years ago when she removed with her husband to Bedford. She was married to Slater Belcher five years ago, being his second wife. One daughter, aged three, was born to the union and she survivies. Besides the husband and parents, two brothers, Hugh and Will and two sisters, Carrie and Helen are left. Mrs. Belcher was a member of the Baptist church. She belonged to the Degree of Pocahontas at Bedford. The body will be shipped to this city Thursday morning, arriving at 11:56 over the E & L railroad. It will be taken to the hme of Mrs. Sarah Bruner on southeast Seventh Street. Mrs. and Mrs. Frank Clements of Sparta, Illinois will likely be there to attend the funeral.
