SARASOTA, Fla. — Doris I. Arney, 93, formerly of Washington, died Tuesday
at Doctor’s Hospital. She was born Jan. 10, 1916, in Daviess County,
to Fred and Myrtle (Clark) Hart. A 1935 graduate of Epsom High School,
she and her husband Deward L. Arney managed grocery stores in Epsom and
Washington. She was also a manager for Tupperware, retiring after 30
years of service. She was also a member of Eastern Star in Sarasota.
She is survived by a son, D. Dwaine Arney of Sarasota; a sister, Arvada
O’Bannon of Sarasota; and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death
by her husband, Deward, whom she married on March 20, 1936, died on Sept.
6, 1995. She is also preceded in death by a son, Denny L. Arney. The
funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Gill Chapel, the Rev. Phil Kessen
officiating. Burial will be in Plainville Cemetery. Visitation is from
4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Condolences
