WM. H. ARMES PASSES AWAY
William Hayden Armes, age 70, 111 South Meridian Street, city, passed
away at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday at the Daviess County Hospital. He had
been ill for one year and seriously ill only a few days. Mr. Armes
was born in Daviess County, May 23, 1889, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Samuel
Armes. His wife, the former Zaela (sic) Hedrick, preceded him in death
in 1939. The deceased lived in this community all his life and was
employed as a construction worker. Children are Mrs. Lyndall Wyatt
of Cisne, IL; Robert Armes of this city; Mrs. Ethel Stieneman of Santa
Monica, CA; Mrs. Mabel Canary of Modoc, IN; Harold Armes of Hastings,
NE; Hubert Armes of Alfordsville; and Miss Joyce Armes of Indianapolis.
There are 10 grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Lois Benskin of Flora, IL,
survives. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the
Oak Grove Church in Reeve Township with burial in the Oak Grove cemetery
there. Rev. R.P. Hawkins will officiate. Friends may call at the V.L.
Poindexter Chapel.
