Olive (Ollie) Hamilton Armes

Mrs. Ollie Armes, 62, 717 N. W. Second Street, widow of William Armes, died at the Daviess County hospital at 9:35 this morning. Mrs. Armes had been in failing health for several months and became seriously ill three weeks ago. She had been a patient in the hospital for five days.
Deceased was born in Knox County on July 7, 1886. Her parents were William and Laura (Plummer) Hamilton. She was reared in Sullivan County and educated in the Sullivan public schools. She came to Daviess County at the age of 16 and had lived here since then. Her husband preceded her in death on October 5, 1948.
Mrs. Armes was a member of the W.C.T.U. and the Central Christian Church where services will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon. Rev. John A. Farr, pastor, will be assisted by Rev. R. C. Hale in conducting services. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Surviving children are Mrs. Hazel Gromer, and Roy and Melvin Armes, city, William Earl Armes, Washington Township and Mrs. Marguerite Ray, Indianapolis. Three children are deceased: Betty, Harley Ray and Venola Armes. There are six grandchildren.
The following half brothers survive with a half sister, Mrs. Pearl Oberst, Nampa, Idaho, James and Russell Hamilton, city, Ernest Hamilton, Odon, and Leonard Hamilton, Marsing, Idaho.
The body will be taken from the Gill Funeral Home to the residence of Roy Armes, 607 Poplar Street, where friends may call afternoon Friday.
