Geo. B. Allison Died Monday
George B. Allison, 75, well-known Veale Township farmer and cattleman died at the Daviess county hospital Monday at 9 p.m. Friday, three days before his death, he was stricken with a heart attack and was seriously ill to the last.
The deceased was born in Veale township March 22, 1879, the son of William A. and Elizabeth Carroll Allison. He was educated in the Veale township schools and spent his entire lifetime in the Allison homeplace where he was born. December 28, 1916, he married Myra Keith and she survives.
Mr. Allison was a farmer and a member of the cattle breeding firm of Wm B Allison's sons which was widely known for breeding of shorthorns. He was also a member of the Daviess County Southwestern Indiana and The American Shorthorn Breeder's Association. Survivors besides his widow include four children; Mrs. Harold (Helen) White and Burke N. Allison, both of Veale Township; Reverend Earl A. Allison, Morgantown, IN; and Lois G. Allison at home. There are six grandchildren. One sister, Emma D. Allison, also resides in Veale township. Seven brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at the Gill Chapel Thursday at 2 p.m. with burial following in the Bethel Cemetery. Rev. Clyde Wake assisted by Rev. T.B. Avery will officiate. Friends may call at Gill's after 7 p.m. this evening.
