Doris Alvena Doades, 98, Rt. 4, died at 9:10 a.m. Saturday at Eastgate
        Manor Nursing Center.
        
        Doris Doades Doris Alvena Doades, 98, Rt. 4, died at 9:10 a.m. Saturday
        at Eastgate Manor Nursing Center. She was born July 19, 1908, in Daviess
        County. An Avon representative for many years, she also formerly worked
        at the Vincennes Packing Co. Plant in Washington and later at the Reliance
        Mfg. plant and U.S. Rubber Plant. She had attended Daviess County schools
        and was a member of Veale Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include three
        daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lois Potts of Oakland City, Delores June
        and Cecil Rhodes of New Albany and Billie Joan and Roger Furnish of Bedford;
        10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
        Her husband, Wilbur Doades, whom she married Dec. 24, 1927, died Sept.
        1, 1960. One grandson, one son-in-law, four sisters and three brothers
        are also deceased.The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gill
        Chapel, with Rev. Mike Atkins officiating. Burial will be in Ebeneezer
        Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
