ST. CLAIR CEMETERY BURIALS
Monroe Township, Clark County, Indiana

The following is from the introduction to an extensive index found at the Charlestown Library of burials at St. Clair Cemetery in Monroe Township:

"The cemetery is located three miles east of Henryville, Indiana, on State Route 39 [now Highway 160], on a farm formerly owned by James St. Clair's grandfather [later owned by Earl Munk]. [The index was] copied in 1954, and donated by James St. Clair."

New!
Hi Jeannie, here is the cemetery information...

The grave markers were transcribed by my cousin, James O. St. Clair. The cemetery was originally on the property of Jesse St. Clair, the first St. Clair to settle in Henryville, Clark County.

I, and another St. Clair family have been working on some cleaning up of the cemetery as it's fallen into disrepair since there have been no burials for 102 years.

I did contact Lois Munk about the possibility of getting help from the Pioneer Restoration Project... I'd like to put a fence in, that has "St. Clair Cemetery" on it, but don't know where to get one...

Let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing these posted on the web...

Thanks, Jerry St. Clair
