Jeanne Burke reports that this cemetery is located in Grant 281, Letter D, on Mike Bridges' property. It is on Highway 160, about 1-1/2 miles west of Henryville. Persons who wish to visit must get prior permission. Ms. Burke abstracted the following information in 1995.
McBRIDE Isaac McBride, Senior b. about d. 12/1830 1757 "Here rests the remains of ISAAC McBRIDE, SEN., the Christian and Soldier. He rests on the land he served for in Clark's Expedition to the Illinois Towns in the Revolutionary War." Isaac was born about 1757 and died in a bliz- zard in December of 1830. His daughter, Mary McBride, was the wife of James ALLEN. ALLEN Mary (McBride) b. 03/14/1798 d. 08/04/1877 ALLEN James b. 04/25/1793 d. 12/27/1852 BIGGS Jane, consort of Robert Biggs, Sr., age 84 yrs, 2 mos, 11 days. Formerly Jane MILLER. b. 1755 d. 04/01/1839 BIGGS Robert b. ???? d. 11/09/1831 "In memory of Robert BIGGS, who departed this life Nov. 9, 1831, aged 79 years." "Robert BIGGS was the first settler in what be- came Monroe Twp. He came here in 1806 from Shelby Co., Kentucky, and prior to that, he lived in Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. He is referred to in David McBride's narrative as 'Old Father Biggs'. David McBride was the son of Isaac."I have no further information on this cemetery.
