Permission to visit the cemetery
must be obtained from the property owner, but the gentleman we met on April
7, 2001, simply could not have been nicer or more accomodating.
Only a single monument is found
here, though it is known that a good number of additional burials took
place. The site is meticulously maintained by descendants of the
persons buried here and there is a right-angle patch of daffodils on one
corner of the site.
There are a couple of other small markers found at the base of the single monument, but they bear no visible markings. The single monument bears the following inscriptions: JAMES L. LOUDEN b. 10/6/1853 d. 03/28/1926 LAURA V. LOUDEN b. 10/19/1852 d. 06/01/1908 |
In January 1999, Tammy Kemp <tlkemp@theremc.com> reported to us:
"This cemetery is located on my in-law's farm. You are correct there is only one marked headstone but i know there are more graves. I will ask my husband's grandmother and find out if she knows any of the other names. She grew up there."
