Forest Grove Cemetery is adjacent to Wiley's Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church on Bartle Knob Road.
Barzalli WILEY, founder of Wiley Chapel Church, is not buried here, but rather at Bowery Cemetery, which has recently been indexed.
Wiley's Chapel fell into disuse
prior to 1930's. Due courageous efforts during the Great Depression, the
church was completely rebuilt or restored and became active again! This
was a major accomplishment at a time were money was so scarce!
. . . . TAYLOR Allen b 9-jun-1798 d 14-feb-1888
The remains of the late Allen TAYLOR were interred at the new cemetery at Forest Grove near his home. This being the second grave at that place. There was a large number of relatives, both children and grandchildren present. By request of the relatives, Elder C. A. BARTLE of the Christian Church offered prayer and made some very appropriate remarks on the subject of Death, Resurrection, Judgement, and Heaven. Thus has passed away one of our honest, upright citizens and we are left to mourn his loss.
I presently have no further information on this cemetery. Additional information may be available from either the:
