Brown County Democrat 30 Jan 2008 Russell Weekly Russell L. Weekly, of Scipio, died at 6:10 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. He was 76. Born in Brown County April 17, 1931, Mr. Weekly was the son of Guy and Edith Dickman Weekly. He married Juanita Cox and later married Nancy Fox Boles on June 8, 1985. Survivors include his wife, Nancy; children, Debbie (Bill) Sullivan of Freetown, Pam (Larry) Smith of Elizabethtown and Brenda (Bob) Louden of Columbus; step-children, Vickie (Jim) Baker of Belvidere, Illinois, Bev Coulter of Columbus, Barbara DeGonia of Salem and Julia (Eric) Simms of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Samantha Jo Fox-Boles, Jason and Kimra Louden, Nina Burk, Brandon and Tiffany Smith, Michael Sullivan, Kim Barker, Tammy Bostic, Heather and Aaron Maier, Brian Vetter, Laura Edwards, Mia and Kaylee DeGonia, Sarah and Christina Sims and Ashley Russell; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters Juanita Robertson and Linda Fox, both of Columbus; a brother, Ray (Wanda) Weekly of Brown County, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Weekly was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Juanita Weekly in 1985; a grandson, Quincy Shelton and a stepson, Charles Calvin Boles. Mr. Weekly was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a gauge technician at Cummins Engine Company, retiring in 1991. He and his wife formerly owned Wood Creations in Nashville and coached girls fast-pitch softball in the Columbus area. He was a member of Elizabethtown United Methodist Church, the Diesel Workers Union and was a former member of Jackson-Jennings N.C.H.A. He enjoyed camping, square dancing, woodworking, traveling and horses. The funeral was conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, January 28, at Barkes, Weaver and Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street in Columbus with the Reverend Larry McIntosh officiating.
