The Columbus Republican Columbus, Indiana Thursday, October 18, 1898 Page 8 Obituary Died, near Petersville, October the 8th, 1898, at 7:30 o'clock a.m. of consumption, Allenah, wife of Beverly B. Tooley, Jr. She was born in this county Dec. 29, 1859, aged 38 years, 9 months and 9 days. She was the youngest daughter of John Gaddie and was married to Mr. Tooley, August 10, 1880. She united with the M.E. church when eleven years of age and was converted under the preaching of Rev. C.E. Line, and has always lived, since her conversion, a true and tried christian. She was confined to her room and bed for the past ten months and during her entire affliction she was never heard to utter a word of complaint and gave evidence every day of her faith in a Saviour's love. She said to her husband on the Sabbath preceding her death that that would be the last Sunday she would spend on earth and when she realized that the end was near she said "Glory," and passsed sweetly away to rest. She died as she had lived and was ready and willing to go at the Master's summons. She was a loving wife and a kind and affectionate mother. She leaves a husband, two children, father and mother, one brother and two sisters and a large circle of friends to mourn her death. The funeral service was conducted by Re. J.W. Allen, from 2 Timothy, 1:12. Her remains were followed by a large concourse of relatives and friends to Garland Brook cemetery where her remains now lay at rest.
