The Columbus Republican Columbus, Indiana Thursday, January 5, 1911 Page 6 WM. STRIETELMEIER DIED LAST THURSDAY Suffered Injury From Buzz Saw Several Days Ago and Shock Affected His Heart. William Strietelmeier, aged 40 years, died at his home five miles northwest of this city about 2 o'clock this morning. Death was from heart disease the attending physicians say, and was due indirectly to an accident that befell Mr. Strietelmeier several days ago. Mr. Strietelmeier was sawing wood with a steam driven buzz saw when the belt came off. One of the men was endeavoring to replace the belt and when the machinery started suddenly Mr. Strietelmeier's arm was nearly severed by the saw. Mr. Strietelmeier suffred a great deal from the injury and did not recover from the shock. He was apparently as well as usual Wednesday evening and there was no thought of his condition being critical. however, he weakened during the night and died Thursday morning. The funeral of the late William Strietelmeier was held Sunday afternoon. There was services at the home northwest of this city at one o'clock in the afternoon, followed by services at the German Lutheran church in this city at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Frederick Wambsganss conducted the services. Burial was in the Garland Brook cemetery.
