REMY, Mrs. C. J.

Born 3 1/2 miles northeast of Hope February 9, 1836, the daughter of Thomas 
Essex, died Sunday [April 27, 1930] at the home of a daughter, Mrs. W. S. Bittrick, age 94. Her father died 30 years ago. She married Calvin J. Remy; he died November 11, 1916. She came to Columbus 35 years ago.

 Surviving are five children Mrs. Bittrick, Mrs. Alta Fitzpatrick of Columbus, Judge Chas F. Remy, Edward A. [Remy] and Sherman J. Remy all of Indianapolis. Funeral service was Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Columbus with burial at Garland Brook cemetery.

Parents of Miranda A. C. Essex were Rebecca Fry (1809-1876) and Thomas Essex (1807-1892).
Miranda married on March 05, 1857 - Calvin Jones Remy, son of Nancy Jones & John T. Remy.
