Source: Hope Star-Journal, Obits, compiled by Mildred Dixon Harrod REMY, Edward A Born Mouglas [sic] (Douglas) county, Illinois, son of Calvin Jr and Miranda Essex Remy, died February 10, [1933] in Indianapolis. His parents went to Illinois in 1861, back to Hope in 1864. He graduated from Franklin College in 1887, taught nine years. In 1896 he and Jay C Smith bought the Seymour Republican, later the Greensburg News. He married in 1893 to Lucy Edwards and she died several years ago. Surviving are two daughters, Margaret [Remy], a teacher at Tech High School, and Elizabeth Sheard of Oxford, Ohio; two grandchildren; two brothers, Charles F Remy and Sherman J Remy of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs Alta Fitzpatrick of Columbus and Mrs Lizzie E Bittrich of Indianapolis. He was a member of the Sons of the Revolution. He was 71. Hope Star-Journal - Friday, February 17, 1933 Edward A Remy was one of six children of Calvin Jones Remy, Jr and Miranda A C Essex. Brother was Charles F (Judge) Remy of Indianapolis, IN. Sister, Alta M Remy married in 1883, Barth Co, Bart Fitzpatrick. Sister, Lizzie E Remy married W S (Bittrich) Bittrick.
