Miss Mayme McCullough died at the home of her mother, Mrs. Alice McCullough, o Pearl street, Thursday evening, aged twenty-three years. She had been in poor health for some time and was at Indianapolis taking treatment until shortly before Christmas, when she returned home. Although she had almost given up hope of recovery her death on Thursday was unexpected and the end came suddenly. Miss McCullough was a sufferer from consumption and went west last year for the benefit of her health. She grew better for a time and returned here, but the improvement was short lived and the end was inevitable. Miss McCullough had a host of friends, not in name only but in the sense of true friends who knew her and loved her for herself. She was patient through all of her illness and her cheerful nature and kind disposition remained with her through the last days of her illness. She was graduated from Columbus high school with the class of 1997 and later attended Butler College, where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She had a large circle of friends in Irvington and Indianapolis, as well as in this city. The funeral was held from the residence Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev. G. D. Wolfe, and burial was in Garland Brook cemetery, where her father, William McCullough, is buried.
