The Republic Columbus, Indiana October 8, 1904 Saturday Page 1 Mary Elizabeth Kaiser. Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Kaiser, wife of J. H. Kaiser, died this morning at 9:45 o'clock at her late residence, 632 Eighth street, of stomach trouble. Mrs. Kaiser, who was the daughter of Smallwood Cavanaugh and Mary Elizabeth Glanton, was born in this city, May 15, 1844, and was reared here. On November 19, 1879, she was united in marriage to J. H. Kaiser, who, together with an only brother, Ira Cavanaugh, of Brooklyn, N. Y., and cousins, Mrs. Joseph I. Irwin, Mrs. James Perry and James A. Glanton, survive her. She was a member of the Methodist church, having been united with that denomination when a young girl. Her illness was of brief duration, as she had been suffering since Sunday afternoon, when she was taken ill at the home of her brother-in-law, Henry Weihe, on Union street. She grew slowly worse until this morning at 1 o'clock, when her brain became affected. For years she has been suffering from exhaustion, from heart trouble, which prevented her from taking an active part in church or social duties. Mrs. Kaiser was generous, sincere, and professed an ardent affection for those whom she loved. She was grateful and possessed a keen sense of gratitude, that endeared her to her friends. The funeral will be announced later. The Republic Columbus, Indiana October 10, 1904 Monday Page 1 Funeral of Mrs. Kaiser.
