The Republic Columbus, Indiana Tuesday, January 16, 1906 Page 4 Eura E. Hunter. Eura E. Hunter, who was the daughter of Robert and Ella Hunter, was born near Jenias, Jennings county, Indiana, June 21, 1886, and died near Hartsville, January 9, 1906, aged nineteen years, six months and eighteen days. During a series of meetings held by Rev. Wm. Chapple, one year ago she united with the Christian church at Hartsville and remained an active and faithful member until death. Her death was a result of nine days' illness, and was a sad blow to her mother and sisters. Her suffering was great but she was patient and kind through it all. She died calmly and peacefully, trusting in her Savior. She leaves a widowed mother, two sisters and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss, her father being dead since August 25, 1891. She was taken in the first bloom of womanhood, when life seemed sweetest and hope the brightest. She was looking forward with pleasure to the day she would be able to get up. Eura, as she was known, had a pleasant, ever friendly way, and her cheerful smile has passed like a ray of sunshine, beyond us into the bright eternal home, where sorrow, sickness and death can not enter. Her pure, Christian character endeared her to all who met her, and she will bew greatly missed by her loved ones and friends. Our loss only God knows. He knoweth best. The funeral service was held at Hartsville by Rev. Wm. Chapple, of Columbus. Interment at College cemetery. Dear Eura, you have left us Wben your work had scarce begun, But we know that love bereft us Of the jewel heaven has won. We shall ask in vain for gladness And your smiles to cheer our way; Naught can banish hours of sadness While we grieve for you each day. My sister, you now wander Where the flowers are sweet in bloom, While we stay on earth to ponder O'er our lots with hearts in gloom. We would wish thee back to cheer us With your loving words again; We would have our sister near us, But to ask would be in vain. Dear Eura, we can never Meet you in this vale of tears, But it shall not be forever, Parting ends with coming years. And these hours of pain and sorrow Bring us nearer to that home Where there is a long to-morrow And dear Eura bids us come.
