HOWARD BRUCE HOVIS FUNERAL WEDNESDAY

Funeral for Howard Bruce Hovis, 86, a resident of Odd Fellows Home at Greensburg, will be conducted by the Rev. A. Kent at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Norman Funeral Home. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a Masonic service will begin at p.m. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

A former resident of Rugby, Hovis died at 12:40 p.m. Sunday at the Decatur County Hospital in Greensburg.

Born April 30, 1904, in Brown County, Hovis was the son of Lewis and Mary Ault Hovis.

Hovis was a farmer and a third-generation basketmaker. He was a member of Hartsville Masonic Lodge, Columbus Order of Odd Fellows and attended Rugby U.B. Church.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
