The Republic Columbus, Indiana Wednesday, November 29, 1899 Page 4 FUNERAL THURSDAY AFTERNOON At 2:30 O'clock at the Tabernacle Christian Church The remains of Hon. George Cooper arrived here at 5:10 o'clock Tuesday evening, accompanied by Mrs. Cooper, son Kent, son-in-law F.W. Fraser, daughters, Mrs. Bertha Fraser, of Crookston, Minn., Beryl and Maud, of this city, and nephew, Dale Cooper, of Chicago. There were met at the station by a large number of both Masons and Knights of Pythias and a crowd of citizens. The remains were taken to the family residence at 718 Seventh street, where they were viewed to-day by throngs of friends from 9 o'clock a.m. to 4 o'clock p.m. The funeral will occur from the Tabernacle Christian church at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Rev. A.B. Philliput, of the Central Christian church, of Indianapolis, will deliver the funeral sermon. The pall bearers will be two lawyers, two business men, two Masons and two Knights of Pythias. The lawyers who will officiate are W.C. Duncan and Charles Baker, the business men are Wm. A. Mooney and Capt. W.J. Lucas, the Masons are M.T. Reves and W.F. Coats. The Knights of Pythias have not yet selected the men to serve in this honorary capacity. The remains will be interred at Garland Brook cemetery. Mr. Cooper carried life insurance to the amount of $22,000, all of which was fully paid up. The insurance was distributed in the following companies: Mutual Life Ins. Co. N.Y..$10,000.00 Ewuitable...................4,000.00 North Western Life..........4,000.00 Berkshire...................1,000.00 Royal Arcanum Benefit order.2,000.00 His mother, Mrs. Mary E. Cooper, is still living in this city. Mr. Cooper's other near relatives are Mrs. Howard Duffy, Mrs. Charles Wert and Cassius B. Cooper, of this city, and Mrs. Charles W. Tinsley, of Indianapolis.
