William C. Conrad William C. Conrad, 83, of Chestnut Street died at 10:38 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at Columbus Regional Hospital emergency room. He retired from Cosco and was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church at Jeffersonville. He was a former member of the Eagles and Moose lodges, the American Legion, Fraternal Order of Police, Indiana Farm Bureau and Indiana Sheriff’s Association. Funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Roger Dale Hearne officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Mr. Conrad was born in Bartholomew County Aug. 21, 1916, the son of Jacob and Emma Mullis Conrad. He married Bessie M. Thompson Oct. 22, 1943. She died Dec. 24, 1975. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Fields of Hope; brothers, Leo Conrad of Columbus and Roscoe Conrad of Rosstown; grandchildren, Michelle Riner and Billy and Patrick Westbrook; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Mac, Jim, Thorns, Eunie, Hester, Ray and Roy Conrad, and sisters, Frances Hipscher, Lydia Heitz, Cebia Snyder and Annabelle Conrad.
