Oliver C. Conrad - Former Tannery Worker Route 8 Oliver Curtis Conrad, 76, Route 8, died at 3:55 p.m. Wednesday at his home following a lengthy illness. A former construction worker and employee of Mooney Tannery, he was employed in the residential and commercial wrecking business when he retired. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Vernon Shephard at 1 p.m. Saturday at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home where persons may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery . Conrad was born October 14, 1903 , in Bartholomew County , the son of Jacob and Martha Mullis Conrad. He married Claudia Mildred Hutson Dec. 22, 1952 , and she survives. Other survivors include a son, James Conrad, Candlelight Village; a daughter, Nancy Barkes, Columbus, a stepdaughter, Margaret Mars, Park Avenue; a stepson, Ralph Bramble, 27th Street; six brothers, Leo Conrad, Hope; Manford and Thorn Conrad, Seymour; Roscoe Conrad, Route 8; and William and Eunice Conrad, Columbus; three sisters, Sybil Snyder, Columbus; Lidia Heitz, Seymour; and Francis Creed, Scipo, and five grandchildren.
