Herod Conrad - Herod Conrad, 59, Succumbs County Farmer Dies Tuesday Evening at Hospital- Rites Thursday Herod Harry Conrad, 59, Route 7, died at 5:30 o’clock Tuesday evening at the Bartholomew County hospital. He was a farmer. Mr. Conrad was born August 28, 1891, in Bartholomew County to Adam and Mary Conrad. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sophia Conrad; his sons, Robert Conrad, John Conrad, Everett Conrad and Elmer Conrad of Bartholomew County , Louis Conrad of Nashville and William Conrad of Columbus ; five daughters, Mrs. Ray Lawless of Route 7, Miss Leona Conrad, Miss Goldie Conrad and Miss Alma Conrad, all at home, and Mrs. Lester Spurgin of Route 8; a brother Harvey Conrad of Route 7; two sisters, Mrs. Oscar Sullivan of Waynesville and Mrs. Oscar McEwen of Route 8; a half-brother William D. Conrad of Azalia; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Dee Weddle of Chicago Heights, Illinois, and Mrs. Alex Jines of Azalia, and 17 grandchildren. A son died in infancy. Funeral rites will be held at 2:30 o’clock Thursday afternoon at Hathaway Funeral home. The Rev. Orval Sutton will be in charge of the rites. Burial will be at Bethel cemetery near Walesboro.
