Adam Conrad- Adam Conrad, 83, Succumbs Life-Long Resident of County Passes Away at County Hospital Adam Conrad, 83 years old, life-long resident of this city died at the county hospital yesterday afternoon following a four week illness, due to a fracture of the hip. The body has been removed to the Hathaway Funeral home on Franklin Street. Services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Bethel Baptist church at Walesboro conducted by the Rev. George King, pastor of the local First Baptist church. Burial will be at the Bethel cemetery in Walesboro. Mr. Conrad was born and reared in Wayne Township and spent practically all his life there. He engaged in farming for many years and was well known in that locality. About a year and a half ago his health became such that he entered the county home where he remained until four weeks ago last Monday. He slipped on some ice on a paved sidewalk at the home and in the fall his hip was fractured. He was moved to the county hospital where everything possible was done for his comfort.  Mr. Conrad was a member of the Bethel Baptist church at Walesboro and was a highly esteemed man. When his health failed by choice he went to the county home instead of going to his children. Surviving are five sons and three daughters, Jake Conrad, Harvey, Harrod and Bill Conrad of this county; Jack of Indianapolis; Mrs. Emma Kulman, of Ogilville, and Hazel and Dorothy, of near Grammar.
