Mrs. Charley Burns, of near Elizabethtown, was buried in the cemetery at Burnsville last Sunday afternoon. Rev Bringle, of Shiloh Baptist church, preached a beautiful funeral discourse on the text, "Mother, Home and Mourners." Mrs. Burns was the mother of Calvin Burns and Mrs. Fred Stever. She was one of the old pioneers of this township. She was born in Jefferson county, this state. She and her husband lived together about fifty years. She united with the Christian church at the age of fourteen and lived a devoted Christian until the day of her death. She leaves a husband and eight children.
