The Republic Columbus, Indiana February 19, 1904 Friday Page 4 SUCCUMBS IN INDIANAPOLIS Charles Burgess Passes Away at Central Hospital for the Insane. Charles Burgess died in the Central Insane Hospital at Indianapolis early this morning, aged thirty-one years. The remains will arrive here this evening at 5:03 o'clock, accompanied by Walter Burgess, of Indianapolis, and will be taken to the home of his mother, Mrs. Julia Burgess, on the corner of Ninth and Washington streets. The announcement of the funeral will not be made until Edgar and Sam Burgess arrive from Kentucky. Mr. Burgess was born in this city ad went through school here. He was employed in the First National bank until about ten years ago, when he left the city and has been located at several places since then. He returned here last fall in poor health and his bad physical condition, together with a great deal of worry, brought on insanity. He was taken to the insane hospital, where he seemed to improve for awhile but later grew worse and his death has been expected most any day. He leaves a wife but no children. He was known by almost everyone in the city and has a large circle of friends.
