The Republic Columbus, Indiana Friday, December 9, 1904 Page 1 Death of George Brooks. George Brooks died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Walter Doup on Third street, early this morning at the age of sixty-five years. Paralysis was the cause of his death. Mr. Brooks was well known here and came to this city years ago. He was foreman of the foundry at the L & N. shops in Louisville for thirty years. His father, John Brooks, died in May, 1903, at the age of ninety and his mother, who is now ninety years old, survives him. Besides Mrs. Doup there are three children, Mrs. Bink Schnur, a daughter, in New Mexico and a son. The time of the funeral will be announced later.
