OBITUARY

Robert Bratton died at his home in Clifty township, Bartholomew county, Ind., on the 25th day of April, 1880. Aged 62 years, 9 months and 15 days. The deceased was born in White county, Virginia, on the 10 of July, 1817 In early life he came to Franklin county, this state, where he spent his youth. In 1848 he moved, whth his family, to the neighborhood where he died. For more than thirty years he has lived and labored among us, a good neighbor, a firm friend and a consistent christian. He will be sadly missed at his home, among his neighbors and church.

He leaves a wife and three children, together with a large circle of friends to mourn his loss. Funeral service at teh Little Sandcreek Baptist church by Rev. A. Carter, attended by an unusually large congregation, one of the largest ever gathered at this church. Thus our old citizens are passing away, an admonition to us to be also ready.
