Columbus Evening Republican 24 Feb 1931 WILLIAM BARKER FUNERAL TODAY Services Held For Man, 64, Who Died Suddenly at Azalia Funeral services for William Barker, 64 years old, who died suddenly yesterday morning at his home in Azalia, were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Friends church in Azalia conducted by the Rev. Charles E. Scales, of this city, with burial in the Methodist cemetery. Mr. Barker was born in the Beck's Grove neighborhood, Brown county, and lived there until a few years ago when with his family he moved to the present home. He farmed practically all his life and was well known in both Brown and Bartholomew counties. Mr. Barker had not been in ill health and last Sunday returned from a week's visit with relatives in Indianapolis. Sunday night he was taken ill of a heart attack and yesterday morning at about 4:30 o'clock died suddenly. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Beck's Grove. Surviving are his wife, who was formerly Miss Catherine Rudolph, and to whom he was married in 1888, and nine children, Orville Barker, of Waymansville, Mrs. Carrie Meyers, Mrs. Reba Crouch, Mrs. Lela Williams, Mrs. Mary Hole, all of Indianapolis; Frank, at home, Clyde of Seymour, Miss Linnie Barker, of Indianapolis, and Alma Barker, at home, and 14 grandchildren.
